ARE YOU GLORIFYING GOD?
I Corinthians 6:19-20
Intro.: What is the “Glory of God”?
- The Glory of God is His Supremacy .
Gen.1:1; Rev.1:8; Ex.20:2-3; Deut.4:39; Rom.11:36; Rev.4:11
- He is the First and the Greatest .
- The Glory of God is His unique excellence .
- His Glory establishes His ultimate authority .
- The Bible instructs us to “glorify God.”
Matt.5:16; Jn.15:8; Rom.15:6; I Cor.10:31; I Pet.4:11;
Jude 24-25; Eph.1:5-6,11-12; 3:20-21; I Cor. 6:19-20
“Glorified” = (Gr.) honored , magnified, to make
glorious.
What does “glorify God” mean? Ans. = To demonstrate He
is first ; to show His supremacy.
How do you “glorify God”?:
I. Please Him.
- We must not live for ourselves , but for Him !
II. Behold Him.
- Meditate on the Glory of God as revealed in the Scriptures.
III. Magnify Him.
- Tell others!
- Live Christ before others!
Concl.: Are you a light that shines in this dark world or are you a
chameleon that blends in with the world?
