I. Who Is The Lord?
A. Answer: Jehovah, the Lord God of Israel.
B. Answer: Jesus Christ, God Incarnate.
- John 10:11 – “I am the good shepherd.”
C. Answer: The Creator of All Things.
John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-20
- We can boast, “Look at Who my Shepherd is!”
II. Why Should He Be My Shepherd?
A. Answer: He Chose to Create Me as the Object of His
Own Affection.
- This gives my life meaning & purpose !
B. Answer: He has Bought Me Again by the Price of His
Own Blood.
Isaiah 53:6; John 10:11; I Cor. 6:19-20
- “We are really not our own and He is well within His rights to lay claim upon our lives.”
C. Answer: He Continually Cares for Me.
- James 4:6 - “He giveth more grace.”
- To reject the Good Shepherd is to choose to suffer under the bondage of sin and the deceit of the Devil.
Concl.: There is a distinct mark on each of the sheep of the Good
Shepherd that identifies him/her from the rest of the world.
- That mark = the Cross of Christ.
